Okay, as promised…..I finished the video of the girls and our nightly routine. It had Stacy laughing in one part out loud and her giving me that “I’m disappointed in you” look during other parts. Please make sure you read the post right after as it was just posted last night. Hope you enjoy!

Bella aka Mammy from Gone with the Wind
It’s been an exciting week here at the Hufnagel house! Hopefully by now you have all seen that Bella is starting to walk! (If not, Click here to see the Video!) She can take up to 10 steps on her own and she has good balance (when she isn’t too excited). Norah is finally starting to try to let go and walk too. She still tends to fall forward and has to try to step to keep up as best she can. Her record now is 4 steps, so she is not walking yet, but working on it. For those of you who missed it, the Bella walking video is below the post.
I'm Mad as Hell
On the down side, the snotty noses are trying to make a comeback, but hopefully it will be very short lived. As of now, the girls are scheduled to do their one year old photos on this upcoming Sunday. I guess we will have to reschedule if they get sick. I’ve scheduled them at the portrait studio at Target with Desirae. She’s the girl who has done all their pics and does such a good job with the girls that I don’t want to chance it with someone else.
Norah and Italian Cuisine
The girls are eating table food exclusively now and are beginning to fight taking bottles. That is fine with me because I would rather give them sippy cups than having toddlers that demand bottles. The girls have been enjoying the regular food that we have even eaten for dinner and this past week they were treated to Chicken Marinara which seemed like a good idea at the time. Cleanup was a bit brutal but they made for some interesting pictures at least. :) Norah is an extremely messy eater. She eats fast and wants to stuff as much food in her mouth as possible. Bella is quite the opposite. She takes her time and often offers to share her food with Norah, Mom, Dad and even the the dogs.
Bubble Bath!!!
We tried skipping bottles altogether tonight and just offering a sippy of formula before bath time. Norah did fine and fell right to sleep. Bella cried and cried, so I gave her a small bottle and she finally fell asleep. Bath time tonight was lots of fun because Aaron fixed them a nice bubble bath. Norah really enjoyed it, but Bella’s bath was cut short because she refused to stay seated in the tub.
Laundry Helpers in Action
Both girls are also becoming quite the little helpers around the house. Both love to help Mommy load the dishwasher and help fold/unfold laundry. Norah is so cute about it though. She will take out all the laundry from the clothes basket, but then after it is all out she will then find every piece and put it back into the clothes basket. This is her process and she is diligent about it. She seems to get upset that Bella doesn’t quite understand Norah’s laundry process!
I will also say that last night we finally learned perhaps one good reason why twins should not sleep together: If one would, let’s say vomit, then it would seem rational that both would have vomit on them since they sleep in such close proximity to one another. Yep that happened :( When we went to check in on them before we went to bed, upon opening the door, the distinct smell of vomit was so ever present. Apparently, Bella’s tummy was upset and vomited in the bed, on her, in her hair and of course they then fell asleep in the vomit. Norah, who could sleep anywhere and through anything, more than definitely confirmed that hypothesis. So there we are at 10 PM rewashing the babies, changing their pajamas, stripping down the sheets, putting on new sheets with two very unhappy girls who were peacefully sleeping in vomit. It doesn’t get much better than that….

To think that just within a week that Norah and Bella will be 1. There is a lot to get done before their party. We hope that lots of you can make it to celebrate with us. We are still waiting to hear back from quite a few people.

I can almost reach it.....
Finally …..the girls are feeling better!!! I am so happy to have my healthy girls back! Bella is still on antibiotic drops for a couple more days because I don’t want a repeat of what happened last time. But her eye is definitely better and looking like her gorgeous eyes should.
The girls have had to cope with bath time with mommy for most of this week. Aaron had softball practice, yard work and other miscellaneous stuff kept him late at work over the past few days, so he wasn’t around to help out when it was time to feed and bathe the girls. It wasn’t too bad; I usually would give Norah a bottle in the crib while I bathed Bella since Norah is more independent. One night Bella was just not happy at all and cried all through her bath and I had to give her a bottle just to get her diapered and into her pjs. Rough times!

When it comes to bath time the girls are so different. Bella is all over the place, crawling around, trying to stand up and dropping toys over the side of the tub. She’s slipped and gotten a face full of water a couple of times now. There have been a few times that I have to pull Bella out and give her to Aaron because she gets so rowdy. Norah is very weary of the water. She sits in one place, never tries to crawl to get toys and will be content to splash a little every once in a while.

Bella is getting really good at standing unassisted and she is really starting to try to walk. She can still only take about 3 steps before she falls. Norah is still too afraid to let go, but she is pushing around her walker, the trash can, empty diaper box and whatever else she can get her hands on. Sometimes they will fight over the walker, but only because they think they need to always be playing with the same thing at the exact same time! Of course I do not think that is just because they are twins. I think all children do that no matter the age range; I am sure that I probably did it a time or two.

Bella's Front Teeth
The time change had the girls a little thrown off this week. We tried putting them to be a

little early a few days before the change, but on Sunday night Bella was having none of it. She cried for a good half hour after we put them to bed before finally going to sleep and woke up almost an hour earlier than she usually would to eat. The next few nights she cried some as well. Finally she went down without a fight last night. I am also happy to report that they are sleeping until we go in to wake them up in the mornings also.

Over the weekend we took them back to eat at the mexican restaurant. We ordered them a plate of refried beans to share and they ate almost the whole thing!! Norah would make a funny face like she didn’t like them, but then want more…silly baby. They are also starting to get to the point where they want to feed themselves. Bella will grab at the spoon and Norah will turn away from it or once you get it in her mouth she goes to put her hand in her mouth. I am sure this will only get worse as they begin trying to exert their independence.
Norah is little miss independent. Aaron caught her on top of the diaper box the other day. She just crawled right up on top of it like it was no big thing. Aaron thought it was funny and got a picture that I am sure he will post down below. They are also starting to hear the word “NO” more because they are trying to get into everything.
Last night we gave them their first bath in the big bathtub. Norah took it well and just sat there and played with her

toys. Bella was turning over and trying to crawl after different toys. She especially likes whichever one Norah has at the time. :)
So far, the girls have had a really good week. It has not been too bad even with the time change. Aaron has to stay late tomorrow (Thursday) for school so it will be just me and the girls having a “girl” night which is almost every night anyway because poor Aaron is the only male in the house. Two dogs-both females. One cat-female.
So, we just got done giving the girls a bath in the “big” tub again tonight. It was the second time that we did that. We got lots of cute pictures of their fun and excitement. It was all going very, very well until….well…as the title implies, “It’s no big deal.” To give you a better idea you can check out the video below to get the point.
So to me–it was a “big deal” but super-mom Stacy took care of it. Why does all the bad gross stuff start with the letter “P” may I ask? Think about it. Maybe I can strike a deal with Stacy–she takes care of all the stuff that begins with a letter P and I will take on the challenges and hard choices that come with say the letter X. Hell, I will even through in the letter Z. :)
