Girls and Daddy--Go Colts!
The week seemed to be off to a good start. The Colts won the playoff game against the Jets (Yay!) to go to the Superbowl. The girls were wearing their Colts onesies in support of the team. They had such a good day. They even got to eat some table food. I made a pot roast and I used my little processor to mush up some potatoes and meat for them…they loved it!
Monday seemed to be going well. The daycare ladies said that both girls napped and ate well and the evening was routine. BUT…about an hour and a half after we put the girls down everything went downhill. Bella woke up crying and after she had been crying about 10 minutes I went up and brought her down with us. We went ahead and fed her and held her for a while and put her back to bed. She fussed, but went back to sleep. About 10:30 she was up and crying again, obviously not hungry, not wet or dirty, and not really settling when we picked her up. She would eventually calm down, but as soon as you put her down she would start bawling again. I thought maybe ear infection, but didn’t really see her pulling at her ear (except for maybe twice and it was quick). So, I thought maybe it was the laying down part that bothered her. I tried putting her in her carseat and put her down in the room hoping that would help. Nope, she cried for another 20 minutes nonstop after that. Finally we each held her for a while and then just put her down and let her cry. It sounds mean, but I shut their door and ours and turned off the monitor. She cried until about 12:30 because kept watching the monitor until everything was quiet.

Norah and Bella happy to see Colts Win
I called in sick to work the next day and called the pediatrician’s office to see about getting them in. He wasn’t in, neither was the nurse practitioner and the other doctor in the practice was fully booked. They wanted to get them in the next day at 11:00. We were not willing to go through another night like the previous one, so we called the clinic run by Aaron’s insurance and they were able to see the girls that morning. The diagnosis was double ear infections in both girls! I would never have guessed Norah had one because she really didn’t cry. She had whined a few times in her carseat at the end of the previous week, but nothing to make me think she was hurting.
Poor babies they looked so bad all snotty noses and glassy eyes. So, we got some antibiotics for them and they’ve been on that and infant Tylenol. They are already feeling better, not 100% and not quite ready to go back to daycare, but much better than they were. They have even been able to sleep through the night again! That has been an issue recently with Bella teething, so it was nice not to have to get up with her.

Norah crawling

Bella Lorraine
Speaking of teething, Bella finally cut her first tooth! She had been sucking on her lower lip so much that she must have cut it on her tooth bud and now has a little canker sore on the inside of her lower lip. She is also really working on crawling too! Right now it looks more like she is doing the “worm” as she sort of pushes and flops, but she is finally starting to move around the room…slowly. Norah has become a professional crawler. She is full-on cross crawling on her hands and knees and she is quick too! She loves to follow us into the kitchen and has unfortunately discovered the dog dishes, so we have to watch her closely. It’s funny though because she also tries to catch up to the dogs also. Jasmine is not happy about that, but Sadie doesn’t seem to care too much. Good old Sadie, she can put up with a lot and act like it’s no big deal.
There won’t be alot of pictures this week since the girls were sick, but there are some from Sunday that we will put up. Not sure if there is any video though.
